This fun and eclectic collection of Digital Underground tracks highlights all that's fun about the group. Til Your Feet Bleed was largely written under a tree in the Utah Canyons, within the shadows of notorious train and bank robber, Butch Cassidy’s favoured hideout. Informed by the imagery of William Faulkner and Flannery O’Connor’s Southern prose, Apollo’s music also recalls Ennio Morricone’s spaghetti-western themes, all grizzled with a Tom Waitsian fervour, and the lush, warming tones of Richard Hawley. It’s a curious combination of inflences, but it just works.

Opening on the clip-clop lament of ‘Oil On A Trashcan Fire’ (a sound recalled on ‘No East No West’), Apollo introduces his cultured croon on ‘For Now’, a solitary song that cries bitter of isolation whilst the beautiful optimism of ‘How Hard’ is imbued with a familiar jazz-informed waltz, tipping a travelled Stetson to Charles Mingus. It’s generally accepted amongst the Cleveland cognoscenti that Easter Monkeys were the best rock ‘n’ roll band calling the city home in the early to mid 1980’s. Rock ‘n’ roll in the sense of the Ghoulardi-inspired hybrid that Cleveland is known for. The band was fronted by ex-Kneecappers Chris Yarmock, bassist Charlie Ditto, with Jim Jones (Pere Ubu, Home and Garden, Mirrors) amazingly creepy guitar work and Linda Hudson’s basement beat. This release collects up the band’s lone LP, comp tracks, unreleased stuff and a DVD of a 1982 gig.

Just about every great Cleveland hardcore band from 1988 onward revolved around Tony Erba or Dwid. Prior to stints in H-100’s and 9 Shocks Terror (and Smog Veil acts Stepsister and Amps2Eleven), Tony Erba delivered the goods with Face Value. The band played a defining role in the hardcore scene of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, turning out furious tunes at breakneck tempos and whipping crowds nationwide into a fine froth before calling it quits in 1993. This career spanning retrospective containing 31 songs plus an insane DVD of various live performances, photos and whatnot proves once again that you can’t go wrong with Cleveland. Pistol Whip was the first ever punk band from Erie, PA, and their lone 7-inch on Endangered Species, released in 1977, is a scorcher and a prized collectible. The band moved to Chicago in 1978, and recorded a 10-song demo, also included here. The band later changed their name to The Swingers, whose output included a sought-after 7-inch and an appearance on Twin Tone’s ‘Big Hits Of Mid-America’ compilation. The DVD contains wild 8mm footage from back in the day plus interviews, photos, and more!

This legendary popsike suite was the brainchild of pop prodigy Michael Lloyd, a founder member of The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band. Recorded in Hollywood over several months, it consists of melodic and imaginative psychedelic-tinged pop, with clear Beatles and Beach Boys influences. Poor marketing ensured low sales on its original release in April 1968, but its reputation has never ceased to grow since.

One of the rarest major label US psych LPs ever released, this hard-hitting, fuzz-laden collection of biker-rock and stoned ballads briefly appeared in a tiny press run in 1970. Recorded by the acid-fuelled Texas trio in California, it has gone on to become one of the era’s more legendary obscurities, with original copies selling for four-figure sums, and makes its long-awaited return here.

Recorded by this Alberta, Canada three-piece in their own home studio in 1968 and 1969, Troyka is a superb and utterly unconventional collection of hard psych-tinged rock, with some surprising ethnic flourishes. Though it fell between the tracks on its release in 1970, it has gone on to be acclaimed as one of the better obscurities of the era, and is presented here complete with a band history. Great to see this Hard Rock Classic finally available again on CD!

Recorded by a Long Island-based quartet in the late 1960s, but only issued without their knowledge in 1974, this awesome LP is regarded by hard rock connoisseurs as one of the finest albums ever recorded in the genre. Only a handful of original copies have ever surfaced, meaning that its frantic blend of riff-laden songs, tough organ and relentless drumming has only been heard by a few... until now.

Heart-on-sleeve indie power pop from three Welsh lads who grew up listening to The Replacements, Big Star and Crazy Horse. Everything Takes Forever is the second album from Peachfuzz, following on from their 2008 debut.
