Rainbow Mirror

Band:PRURIENT
Album:Rainbow Mirror
Label:Profound Lore
Format:4cd
Genre:Avantgarde/Electronic

“Rainbow Mirror”, the latest work from renowned noise-music artist PRURIENT, is a work comprised of 15 new timestretching
PRURIENT tracks that explores the more glacial and meditative side of Dominick Fernow’s exploration of noise and
power electronics. With a total running time of almost three-and-a-half hours, “Rainbow Mirror” will be released as a 4CD
box-edition set through Profound. The 7xLP vinyl edition and digital versions will be released by Hospital Productions to
coincide with the 20 year Hospital Productions Anniversary show in Brooklyn, NY on Nov 5th at Warsaw.

“Rainbow Mirror”, while not necessarily the direct follow-up to the landmark “Frozen Niagara Falls” milestone, marks the
second conspiracy between Profound Lore and PRURIENT and stands as another singular landmark amongst the vast repertoire. Fernow has amassed under the PRURIENT moniker. While familiar moments from “Frozen Niagara Falls” can be found within the massive scope of “Rainbow Mirror”, through the three-plus hour duration of this ambient noise marathon, “Rainbow Mirror” is a monolithic crawling cinematic noisescape that conjures the atmosphere of old-school PRURIENT noise histrionics while bringing in even more dynamics and structure through this very expansive and introspective new observation. The intense, unforgiving, trance-inducing aura of “Rainbow Mirror” is presented through waves of time-stretching electronics, layered counterpoint feedback, loops, and extended droning pulsating synth passages.

“Rainbow Mirror” is a singular new PRURIENT release that clocks in at over three hours of music and consists of new and exclusive PRURIENT material. It will be presented in a 4-CD package with a limited pressing.

THE HORSE AND OTHER WEIRD TALES

Band:JESS AND THE ANCIENT ONES
Album:THE HORSE AND OTHER WEIRD TALES
Label:SVART
Format:cd
Genre:Stoner/Doom/Occult/Sludge Metal

Third time around for Jess and the Ancient Ones sees them take a magical mystery trip to the dark side of the
sixties as seen through the eyes of modern‐day occult rock musicians. This time the band went for an organic
and human approach and produced a very old fashioned album, 9 songs and 31 minutes, recorded and mixed
together with their live sound engineer. Groovy, heavy, psychedelic beat music? Hard death rock? Occult headexploding
meltdown? All of them and more. “I cannot put a label on it, I just make it as it comes”, says band guitarist
and composer Thomas Corpse, who also created the lysergic cover art to The Horse and Other Weird Tales.
The Horse and Other Weird Tales is out on Svart Records on December 1st.

I

Band:KAUKOLAMPI
Album:I
Label:SVART
Format:cd
Genre:Dance/Electronica

“I wanted to break all structure, to see if all form can be destroyed.” Says K‐X‐P frontman, Timo Kaukolampi, of his
debut solo album. A desire to deconstruct convention is not a new thing for Kaukolampi, given that the Finnish
band have been blurring the lines between techno, krautrock, space rock and experimental electronica for the
last decade and forging an idiosyncratic and unique sound truly of their own.

JAZZ -LIISA 14

Band:NORDJAZ Z QUINTET
Album:JAZZ -LIISA 14
Label:SVART
Format:cd
Genre:JAZZ/JAZZ ROCK

The Nordjazz Quintet was formed in 1974, with the help of a grant by the Nordic Music Committee NOMUS. One
musician from each of the Nordic countries was selected to the group. Before the five musicians got together, they
brought their own groups to the Molde Jazz Festival in Norway. Some months later the quintet met and
rehearsed in Copenhagen. They also recorded the album Nordjazz (Storyville Records 1975). The ensemble
comprised bassist Kjell Jansson (Sweden), drummer Pétur Östlund (Iceland), saxophonist and flutist Knut Riisnæs
(Norway), guitarist Jukka Tolonen (Finland), and pianist Ole Kock Hansen (Denmark). The following year the quintet
toured in Scandinavia. However, the line‐up experienced some changes. Tolonen was replaced by saxophonist and
flutist Pekka Pöyry, and Riisnæs by guitarist Nils Petter Nyrén. The tour started from Iceland and the quintet
performed almost daily. When the ensemble arrived in Finland, they were recorded in front of a live audience at
the Liisankatu studios of the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE.
