Pushing parties to the limit and only stopping short of riots, Japanther returns in 2011 with new member Anita Sparrows (The Soviettes) and Rock ‘n’ Roll Ice Cream. Says Ian Vanek, “We met Miss Sparrows on Christmas Eve in San Pedro and formed an instant bond. She is family to us and making music with her is just a part of it.” With Sparrows on board, Vanek and Matt Reilly flew to Los Angeles to work with producer Michael Blum, whose past projects with Michael Jackson, Madonna (Like a Prayer, Who’s That Girl), Pink Floyd and Suicidal Tendencies seemed a daring fit for Rock ‘n’ Roll Ice Cream, an album envisioned by Japanther as a dance party–– and all the kids are invited. “Telephone mics? Really?” exclaimed Michael as the group began what was to become a near-perfect expression of an underground sound. Continuing Japanther’s established habit of collaborating with inspiring icons from every scene, legendary poet Eileen Myles (Cool For You, Chelsea Girls) appears on two astonishing tracks.

Thieves Like Us are two Swedes and one American living in Berlin, Paris, and Milan. They are one of the only multi-nationals that won't exploit you. Mexicans love them. The French love them. Americans love them. The Japanese love them. Neither Andy Grier (vocals, guitar), Bjorn Berglund (synth), nor Pontus Berghe (percussion) live in their home countries, and none of them probably ever will again. They first met at a picnic in East Berlin in 2002. Since then, they have also lived together in London, Paris, and New York City. The trio can often been seen in and around night clubs, but they fit awkwardly there. Thieves Like Us were first discovered by the French imprint Kitsune who released their single, "Drugs In My Body" in 2007. They make pop music with a vintage electronic feel. Many times it makes you dance. Other times it makes you feel strange and wonderful. Back in the day they probably would have signed a contract in blood with Factory Records. 2008's "Play Music", their first album, would definitely have fit the bill. BBC Music called it "consistently exciting ... a contender for electronic album of the year."

“Make it Dark” is TWISTED TOWER DIRE fifth full-length studio album. TWISTED TOWER DIRE’s name has been a synonymous for uncompromising HEAVY METAL since its inception in 1995. Formed out “of a stubborn hatred for the 90’s anti-metal culture” as their website states, TWISTED TOWER DIRE have always been able to maintain a respectable profile, not following transitory trends but keeping true to their original metal beliefs. After their 2007 release “Netherworlds”, TTD took a short break which included the entry of new singer Johnny Aune replacing Tony Taylor. Tragically, Tony died in a motorcycle accident on 6th Feb 2010. In terms of songwriting “Make It Dark” represents probably the most mature album ever written by TTD. With a direct approach, the band has been able to write a very compact sounding release, made of some immediate hit songs as well as others marked with more traditional TTD taste. “Make it Dark” is a sum of those elements which are the pillars of rock/metal music in general and that are so greatly expressed by Twisted Tower Dire in this release: guitar and vocal melodies above the standards, catchy refrains and most important of all, the feeling that each and every of these songs might become a metal classic! Strengthened by Chris Salamone’s (While Heaven Wept) post-studio work, “Make it Dark” is a serious candidate as a 2011 top metal releases.

Their notorious (now long since sold out) hand-made lo-fi demos were championed on the airwaves by HUW STEPHENS and EDDY TEMPLE-MORRIS; whilst also picking up rave reviews in ARTROCKER, Q, THE METRO, CHANNEL 4 PLANET SOUNDS and DROWNED IN SOUND. After a crazy 2009 - encompassing TINGESFEST, IN THE CITY, performing on-stage with LOSERS at GLADE FESTIVAL and supporting Tinchy Stryder for Radio 1, to their jaw-dropping set at SECRET GARDEN PARTY, it comes as no surprise that NME made their remix of EGYPTIAN HIP HOP download of the day and that THE GREAT ESCAPE added them last minute after seeing one live show. During 2010 it all continued with more festival appearances (including Reading/Leeds), a Maida Vale session for the BBC and their debut single through Josaka. With Didz Hammond (Dirty Pretty Things/ The Cooper Temple Clause) managing MIDIMIDIS, the brothers in law have just signed a major publishing deal with BMG and are currently mixing their debut album with Tom Bellamy (Losers). The Despondent/It's Difficult is produced by Mr Fogg (himself a successful electronic artist and producer). For the release of "Hands of Guilt / Eyes of Greed", the band officially resigned a deal with Demons Run Amok. Guitarist Chris states “We already worked with both parties for our previous album and that turned out very well. There was no reason to change the recipe. We are glad to stay within the DRA family.” It's the first album with new vocalist Koen Mattheeuws. Frontman Koen comments: “After being with the band for about a year, I am proud to show the results of our song writing. This is INCARNATE’s third studio album and it's a killer! This record has a great Thrash and Death Metal feel to it, but the groove and slower tempos are represented.There's something for everyone.” INCARNATE worked together with Jacob Parmentier to visualize the album’s concept.
