Josh Graham is an artist who has had many avenues where he has expressed his artistic vision. The duo that comprise Florida’s DARK CASTLE (vocalist/guitarist Stevie Floyd and drummer Rob Shaffer) have been known as doom metal’s version of The White Stripes. The male/female combination of this experimental sludge/doom band formed in the mid-section of last decade and grabbed the attention of doom/sludge metal circles with their 2008 “Spirited Migration” debut (released after their selfreleased “Flight Of Pegasus” EP). But it was also through the duo’s live shows in which would really amaze crowds; how merely two people would conjure such earth rumbling and colossal heaviness. Just through their live performances alone, DARK CASTLE can easily be classified as one of the heaviest bands in America today. And since then, the duo of DARK CASTLE have relentlessly been touring and making their mark as one of the most unique bands in doom metal today. Here is a band who has somewhat side-stepped some of the stereotypes associated with doom metal. Where DARK CASTLE effectively portray their vision not through elongated time-stretching songs, a characteristic synonymous with pretty much all doom metal bands, but through shorter, more punishing, yet dense and vitriolic songs that range from a wide array of influences (apart from traditional doom and sludge) that include influences that come from noise, exotic and Eastern-world influenced sounds, experimental music, drone, black metal, and prog respectively.

Pulsing beats and driving synths replace the lush glockenspiels and melodicas of the previous album, while concise song structures and haunting melodies remain.
The Organ Hearts is divided into three sections, much like the band's debut full-length album, Black Paris 86. Each part acts as a soundtrack for the ever changing daily and seasonal frames of mind, a cinematic reflection of our complex feelings and delicate emotions. In the end, the journey through the record embodies the opposing forces of our actual lives: excitement vs. anguish, clarity vs. confusion, satisfaction vs. longing. Acting collectively through the three sections, these 12 individual compositions paint an arresting picture encapsulating our life's variation and unbearable tenderness, but also evoking a sense of hopefulness that might be waiting around the corner. The Cesarians were born in Hackney, the London borough synonymous with poverty, punk, and politics, a district that mixes multi-culture with gangster glamour. It was here, one winter, in a damp pub cellar, that the legendary producer, Craig Leon, first auditioned the band. Whisking them off across town to the leafy and gentile environs of St John’s Wood, they cut their debut album in Abbey Road’s infamous studio 2. But London was not their calling. They set off, touring Europe, gigging the major cities - Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, Zurich, Berlin and Rome - and feverishly playing all the towns in between as if in search of another home. Returning from a show in Prague at the dead end of 2010 they got the call. “How about Christmas in Italy?” Well naturally. Wasn’t it here that the great English Romantic poets chose to winter? But this wasn’t to be a time of hibernation for the Cesarians. Though they had found a home away from the London snow, in the shadow of the Apennine, they also found a studio. And as England dozed, fed up with it’s bland seasonal faire, The Cesarians were cooking. The result: A blistering new five track EP that the moves from the brooding menace of “In Your House” to the orchestrated and opiated haze (and highs) of “I’m With God”. It screams and blasphemes with Clash like savagery in the anthemic “Worst Thing” then redeems it’s self sweetly with the sad melody of “School Yard” and the lonely poetry of “Questa è lei”.

Willie has been working solidly all along, touring the world and making a living from showbiz. The title of this CD is a 'payback' to the late Ian Dury, who mentioned Willie in his hit song 'Reasons to be cheerful'. On this CD, Willie shows us all the facets of his talents as an entertainer. he even takes on some of Frankie Lane's hits, and comes out on top! Here we find a potpourri of Rock'n'Roll songs that form the backbone of Willie's stage show, and very creditable performances they are, too. However, the standout track here is 'Lollipop mama'. It's a great 'jive' record, and Willie handles it perfectly.
