CURIMUS come from the city of Loimaa, Finland. The Thrash Metal band just celebrated their 10th anniversary and are gearing up for the release of their second full-length album Artificial Revolution. The album's production is the handiwork of both the band themselves and the main producer Tom Gardiner and studio wizard Daniel Rantanen. When compared to debut album REALIZATION (2011) much more work was done with preproduction on this one. After the first round of demos it was already clear that the material destined to become the second Curimus album was to be more powerful and diverse than ever before. In production sessions more focus was given to building a solid set of tracks, and this lead to many songs experiencing major shape-shifting as the project rolled on. ARTIFICIAL REVOLUTION is a strong album that has the classic CURIMUS thrash metal aggression but lighter and melodic nuances as well, and all of it end up making the album an even more crushing piece of thrash than ever before

Nightsatan caught the ear of the attentive laser metal enthusiast with their debut album Midnight Laser Warrior in 2010, and now the trio debut as movie stars in Nightsatan And The Loops Of Doom. The movie draws inspiration from the very same source the band does: 80s post-apocalyptic science fiction. The synth trio Nightsatan hail from the doomy city of Turku, Finland, and they place themselves in the post-apocalyptic laser metal genre. In the beginning the synth wizard Wolf Rami envisioned the band's music as "the soundtrack to Miami Vice meets heavy metal". During their career the band's sound has extended to both ends of that spectrum, and the synth-metal riffs of the early material have given way for a more progressive and atmospheric approach. Given the international cult fame gained with the already quite cinematic debut album - with kudos given by the likes of Monocle, Empire and Popvoyage - and live shows in their native Finland and Sweden, it is fitting that the trio's next step is a movie soundtrack. Directed by Chrzu, better known as the director of animated features such as Curse of the Remote Island (2008), Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom is a proud tribute to vintage Italian post-apocalyptic sci-fi. It is a very unusual short epic, full of sex, violence and general sense of wonder. The soundtrack album is a considerably more epic and measured affair than its predecessor. Recorded and produced by the band's 2nd keyboard guru Mazathoth, the album features full-lenght versions of all tracks from the movie. Contrary to the synth-y debut, Loops of Doom has several guest musicians and even string instruments. The retail package features both the soundtrack and the DVD movie, loaded with juicy bonus features.

Tusmorke returned in 2009 with a full electric lineup and the debut album ”Underjordisk Tusmorke” appeared three years later.
May 2014 sees the dark minstrels return with a sophomore album ”Riset Bak Speilet” (”The wand behind the mirror”). A 50-minute transmission from the heart of the darkest northern forests, the album skillfully channels the spirit of classic British acid folk rock and soaks it in a black witches cauldron. The spellbinding concoction is at times reminiscent of classic acts like Jethro Tull and Incredible String band, and also not entirely far off from modern forest magicians such as Hexvessel and Wolf People. ”Time is an illusion when the music of Tusmorke is played: it ceases to exist. The listener loses her grip, our knowledge no longer stems from social media or printed newspapers: everything the modern world has made us believe, evaporates. Our ears grow into cones, blood turns thin.

Evidence of such sinful formation have been gathered from church records and filmographies. Traditionally, only three cultists are scarcely identified. The local preacher "Wilhelm", the church cantor "Kristian" and the gravedigger "Aukusti" seem to have been the main malefactors. Adjacent to the local church, these churchmen practiced their own crooked religion in the church cantor's vast mansion. Besides blasphemy, the cult performed sacrificial murder and enslaved villagers to be buried alive.

RASHOMON is the solo project of Matt Thompson, bassist and keyboardist of Cineploit artists ZOLTAN and cosmic synth act CREMATOR. “The Cameraman´s Revenge” is the 4th release under the Rashomon name, and the first on Cineploit. The earlier Rashomon albums were a mix of experimental pieces and music influenced by film composers, and with time the music has developed in a purely cinematic direction. The music on “The Cameraman´s Revenge” was composed as two long soundtrack pieces to accompany silent movies by Russian filmmaker Ladislaw Starewicz. “The Cameraman´s Revenge” itself is an early Surrealist masterpiece from 1912, in which Starewicz animated the corpses of dead insects to tell a tale of infidelity and revenge. The soundtrack is a carnival-esque tour-de-force of folk-concrete, utilising harmoniums, jawharps, vintage synthesisers, an array of oddball percussion and more. “The Mascot” (1933) is a bizarre and disturbing film for children, and Rashomon’s soundtrack reflects this darkness with shifting drones, ominously melodic waltzes and minimalist organ fugues over the course of its 25 minute length. On the DVD that comes with the Vinyl both films are featured, accompanied by Rashomon´s music.

Skornik was a mystic explorer, psychonaut, and gifted musician, who was immersed in the metaphysical revolutions of his time. He presented television reports, laced with elements of Eastern mysticism, on LSD experiences. Between 1970 and 1973, EMI/Pathé released several ambitious and progressive pop albums: “La Mort D’Orion” (Gérard Manset), “Puzzle” (Michel Berger), “Hathor” (Igor Wakévitch). And then there was Skornik's incredible album, "Pour Pauwells", inspired by the revolutionary writings of Louis Pauwells (famously namechecked by Gainsbourg in his classic 'Initials B.B.'), a onetime counterculture hero and disciple of esoteric spiritualist G. I. Gurdjieff, The result is a timeless blend of lush orchestration, searing psych-rock, baroque melodies, and deep funk fluidity.

Graham Day, Allan Crockford and Wolf Howard have been intermittently blasting out their muscular version of Medway Garage- Rock™ in various combinations and guises over a period of more than 30 years, releasing dozens of albums between them. Graham and Allan were in The Prisoners (‘82-‘86), before forming The Prime Movers with Wolf in 1988, releasing 3 albums before they split in 1993. The trio were re-united in 1999 as The Solarflares, releasing another 5 albums until once again calling it a day in 2004. The three re-united as a live band in 2013, forming around the idea that the time was right for rifling through the Graham Day Songbook and delivering a 'best of' set: stripped down live versions of the best of The Prisoners, The Prime Movers, The Solarflares and The Gaolers. Recent gigs have proved that time has not dimmed their fire, energy and passion. If anything, their live performances have been more ferocious than ever. One school of thought says that The Forefathers are essentially a 'tribute act', a tribute to themselves and their shared musical history...if that is true, they are the purest and best tribute act in existence— no one delivers a Graham Day song like Graham Day, Allan Crockford and Wolf Howard. Plans are afoot to release an 'almost' live album of choice cuts from the set, recorded in the band's rehearsal space amongst the vintage litho machines of a friend's printing company. This single, 'Love Me Lies'/30-60-90' is an exclusive taster from that as yet unfinished project. The A side is a gloriously rough and ready version of a Prisoners song, while the flip is a frantic, fuzzed up grab at an obscure Willie Mitchell instrumental, previously notable only for being covered in 'Get Carter' and subsequently providing the inspiration for the Prisoners' 'Revenge of the Cybermen'.

How big are the influences of the veterans on later music‐generations – or is there even no contact ? And actually, where to start temporally with “Son of Kraut” ? After the music‐wise more unedifying 80’s (with Simmons Drums, Yamaha DX7 Keyboards, and pleat‐front trousers) the 90’s became even more exciting. Nirvana and Pearl Jam displaced Michael Jackson and Madonna and also Krautrock‐veterans like Guru Guru and Amon Düül II returned. Here comes the Next Generation of Krautrock feat. The Keef Hartley Band with their felicitous mix of Rock, Blues, and Jazz, which has been counted since 1968 being one of the hippest live bands of their era. Until 1973 they recorded 7 albums and played numerous concerts. Nucleus of the often changing cast amongst founder and drummer of the band, Keef Hartley, have been most of all singer and guitar player Miller Anderson as well as bass player Gary Thain. During their performance in Aachen in 1970 they have been boosted by Dave Caswell (trumpet) and Lyle Jenkins (saxophone, flute). With this team they started on Saturday, July 11th, 1970 around evening on the festival stage at Reiterstadion in Aachen. The band only played 4 songs that day, which completely are contained on the available cd. Even the iconic “Halfbreed Suite” of their homonymous debut album of 1968 lasted about half an hour. The Keef Hartley Band showed during their performance that they were really exceptionally gifted live musicians. Long lasting improvisations switching to tight organized arrangements, all belted by the bandleader behind his drum kit. Excellent as well: The guitar play of Miller Anderson, who also was responsible for most of the songs. The available recordings have been done semi-professionell with various mikes, which have been fixed at the light traverse, directly on audiotape. The quality is rough but a wonderful example of the fun playing the songs more than 43 years ago. Miller Anderson – who after the late Keef Hartley and Gary Thain – being the only original member of the legendary band, wrote some personal liner notes on this cd.

When Unsane bassist Dave Curran started writing songs on guitar with drummer Jim Paradise (Player’s Club, Freshkills, Hellno) the name they tossed out for their fledgling project was simple: PIGS. “We figured it was short enough that press and promoters couldn’t fuck it up.” Producer Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Converge, Made Out of Babies, Unsane, Keelhaul) was invited to fill-in on bass for a couple of shows and, much to their delight, has refused to leave.
